All professional treatment staff are licensed and/or certified by their respective State Licensing Boards. All paraprofessional treatment staff meets federal and State regulatory requirements.
Dorothy Conger- Executive Director for Pioneer Counseling, Therapist
Dorothy (Dory) Conger is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wyoming. Born in Ohio, she graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Dory moved to Wyoming in 1980 to pursue her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. Finding herself short of funds, she took her Master’s Degree and put it to good use at the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston, where she remained for 10 years providing psychological services. She followed the wave of clients leaving the State Hospital in the 1990’s, going to work for Pioneer Counseling Services in their new Community Living Integration Program (CLIP). Dory continues to lead the CLIP team, providing both direct services to clients and administrative support to the staff and Agency. In her spare time Dory enjoys yardwork and genealogy research.
Vicki Vreeland- Case Manager
Received my Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Wyoming I have worked for Pioneer Counseling for 8 years as a Case worker
Mark Cox- Therapist
Mark Cox MS, LPC Grew up in Utah. Grew old in Wyoming. Graduated from Weber State College in ’99. Major: English. Minor: Philosophy. Graduated from University of Phoenix ’08. Professional Counseling Master’s Degree. Proficient in Substance Abuse Treatment, Severe Mental Illness, Trauma Issues, Therapist at Pioneer Counseling’s CLIP Program
Jerry graduated from what is now known as San Diego State University with a Bachelor in Accounting. He went on to obtain a CPA certificate and worked privately and in government for approximately 45 years. He also was involved as the Information Security Officer for Policy for a large government entity. He retired as the Business Manager for Pioneer in December, 2013 after 6 years. In July, 2016 he returned as a Special Assistant to the Executive Director for Financial operations and continues in that post today
Andrea Bertagnoli- Case Manager, Residential Coordinator
Andrea “Andie” Bertagnolli: BA in Social Science from University of Wyoming. I have worked at CLIP for 8 years as a case manager. I am also the residential manager of both group homes, our crisis center and “ILC” apartment complex.
Logan Smith- Case Manager
Logan graduated from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He has been providing case management services, and helping our clients maintain the highest level of independence as possible since 2008
Liana Rasmussen- Case Manager
Liana has worked in the mental health field for 25 years. She received her bachelor’s in Human Services and Administration from Bellevue University. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree for her LCSW and will finish in November 2017. She has worked for Pioneer for 5 years
Vicki Wood- Outpatient Coordinator, Therapist
LCSW, LAT, BS/ Bachelors of Science/ Brigham Young University, in 1990 MSW/ Masters in Social Work / University of Missouri, Kansas City, 2004 Licensed Clinical Social Worker, since 2006 License Addictions Counselor since 2011 I started my career as a mental health professional in Lusk Wyoming. I worked as an outpatient therapist in a satellite office. I stayed there for approximately nine months. I then relocated to Evanston, Wyoming and was employed with Pioneer Counseling from January 2005, through May 2013, during this time I worked at the CLIP, Community Living Integration Program, as a mental health therapist. I was asked to head up the Crisis Program, and manage that program for 2 ½, years. When this program closed I moved to the outpatient office and worked with both outpatient and CLIP. In May 2013, I moved to a position at the Wyoming State Hospital. There I worked on Johnson Hall as the Case Manager Supervisor. After a year and a half I was offered a position here at Pioneer Counseling as the Outpatient Coordinator, which I gladly accepted. Since that time I have been developing our Substance Abuse Program, Youth Programs Common Psychiatric Clinic and Outpatient Programs. I am proud to be part of Pioneer Counseling and feel it a privilege to serve the people of Evanston, Wyoming. Experience / Training Children, adolescent, adults, families, substance abuse populations, and persistently mentally ill populations. MRT, CBT, BSFT, PTSD, Motivational Interviewing, OCD Treatment, Domestic Violence, Co-Occurring Disorders Mindfulness Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Domestic Violence, Perpetrators, Suicide Prevention, Treating Severely and Persistently Mentally Ill Adults.
Tara Mecham- Lead Case Manager
Tara graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Before coming to Pioneer she worked with various agencies in Utah advocating for domestic violence victims for 6 years. She has been with Pioneer for 14+ years, working specifically with the SPMI population of the CLIP program.
